Obsidian (Lux #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout : Book Review

Title  :
Obsidian (Lux #1, Beginnings)

Author  :  Jennfier L. Armentrout

Format  :  Paperback

Length  :  353/791 Pages

Rating  :  ★★★★★

There’s an alien next door. And with his looming height and eerie green eyes, he’s hot… until he opens his mouth. He’s infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, he marks me. Turns out he has a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal his abilities and the only way I’m getting out of this alive is by sticking close to him until my alien mojo fades. If I don’t kill him first, that is.

THIS BOOK HOLY FUCKING SHIT!!

I can't even begin to explain how much I'm loving this series already. This book was freaking amazing. I have the two in one so this book actually contains book one and two but I wanted to review each book individually. I have only read book one at the moment I'm writing each review as I've finished each one.

I was putting off reading this for so long. I remember seeing it on youtube, some girl saying she loved this series and I though hey I might give it a go and ended up buying all of the books in one go and then not reading them for a year. Finally I decided I had read too many thrillers and wanted something different so settled for this and boy am I glad I did. I'm obsessed.

It's always nice finding a book you love and oh man I am psyched about how much I loved this book. I didn't have the biggest expectations for it, I did when I first got them but I think because I put off reading them for so long I kind of forgot what they were about and didn't have big expectations (which may be another reason why I loved it so much and was so surprised). So I guess there's a lesson learnt with this is don't go into books knowing a lot and with high expectations because you'll more than likely be more disappointed.

I will say this book reminded me a hell of a lot of Twilight. I mean the main character Katy reminds me of bella, Daemon reminds me of Edward, Even the others in Daemon's family and close friends reminds me of the Cullen family it was strange. I also got the vibe when I was reading the different scenarios that happened throughout but I wasn't complaining as I do love the twilight movies (although I haven't seen the last one still).

I've probably blabbered on way to much for you guys but I would seriously recommend this book like if you want to buy one book this week please let it be this one. It's a YA book with aliens and a romance element to it so if that sounds like it's up your ally I wouldn't even hesitate to pick this one up!!!

5 Reasons why you should read Obsidian

◭  The hot fiery romance between Katy and Daemon is to die for I mean he's this      sexy, mischievous boy and Katy becomes more of a strong independent                  woman throughout the book. Who doesn't want to read that?
◮  The good and the evil in this book is pretty amazing. Plus it's alien good and           evil and I'm not the biggest alien fan when it comes to reading but I really               liked this.
◭  The writing style is great. Armentrout does a great job of pulling you in and             not want to stop until the book is finished. It's super fast paced. love love love       it.
◮  Once you start you won't want to stop until the series is complete.
◭  Even the people you are supposed to hate you love because they are so well            build up. I love getting to know a lot of characters who are continuously                  throughout the book.
