The Make Me Read It Readathon is a yearly readathon hosted by Ely @ Tea and Titles and Val @ The Innocent Smiley.
This particular readathon is special to me and holds a place in my heart for a few different reasons. Firstly it was my first post on this blog. Secondly it was the first ever readathon I had ever participated in. Thirdly it is my most commented and most looked at post on my blog till this day. I had a great time participating in this last year and seeing what books were on everyone's list and voting etc. I have been looking for the past 3 months at when this was going to come about again and haven't seen anything until now! I am super psyched about it I can't even contain my excitement haha!! I hope you all join in because it's great fun.
Here is what you need to know about this readathon taken straight off of Val's website.
Look at the books you own, either physical, e-book or ones you've borrowed from the library and pick out a few you really want to read, or feel like you should read. It’s up to you how many you pick, personally I'd pick a few more than you expect to be able to read in a week. Example: if you think you’ll only read two, pick out five books or if you think you can read seven, pick out ten.Make a list of these books on your blog, or make a video, or a Goodreads shelf or post a picture on Instagram—whatever is easiest for you. Then get friends, other bloggers/booktubers/bookstagrammers etc. to vote on which books you HAVE to read. When the readathon comes along, you read the books in the order of most votes. For example, if one book gets 10 votes—you read that first, then the one that got 7 and so on. If there's a tie, then it's your preference. The goal is to read as many as possible.
Taking place between August 6th and August 13th.
So now that you have all the information you need on how to enter and participate here is my poll. Get Voting!!
I'd also love it if you left a comment letting me know if you're participating so I can check your blog out and vote myself. Also leave a comment letting me know what you voted for and why. I love the little stories people have behind picking a certain book.
Hi Chloe!
ReplyDeleteNorthanger Abbey sounds intriguing. I could've read this one with you. Dang it! Anyway, I'll try to vote for that one in a second. But, I also voted for Night Film, because I heard really good things about it. Good luck with this readathon.
Thank you so much for voting!! I really enjoyed the readathon last year so couldn't wait to participate again!!
DeleteYay!!! I'm so glad you love this readathon, I totally do too! I had to pick ACOMAF because... it's amazing. Guarantee it. 95% guarantee, that is.
ReplyDeleteI'm participating too if you want to check out my poll! ;-)

It's such a fun way to get people involved with what you're reading isn't it plus I love seeing what people voted for and why! Thank You for taking the time to vote :)
DeleteI will most definitely head over and check your post out now!!
Isn't it though? I totally agree! Absolutely.
DeleteThanks! ;-)
Hi Chloe! I voted for ACOMAF because I loved that book so much... it's better than ACOTAR - did you read that one? And I also loved Nothenger Abbey - so read that one too!

Thank You for voting!! I did read ACOTAR and I absolutely adored it and I've heard great thing from ACOMAF but need that little push to read it you know.
DeleteGood luck with the readathon and your TBR, Chloe! I voted for Night Film - it's such a deliciously dark and creepy read, and I read it this time last year and enjoyed it. It was a little slow, though, but still interesting. :)

Thank You very much and thanks for voting!! I love those type of books so I'm sure I'll love it or at least I'm hoping too. Not a huge fan of slow paced books I tend to get bored and distracted easily so that's a bummer but hopefully I'll still like it :).
DeleteI totally voted simply based on the title "It Ends With Us" made me go "What is this book?" I should perhaps look into it a bit. I am doing the read-a-thon as well, so your link got me over here. It is interesting to see your choices for this, as it is my first ever read-a-thon.
ReplyDeleteThank You so much for voting and it's great to see your participating in this readathon. This was my first readathon I even took part in too and that was a year ago so I hope you enjoy it because I did!!
DeleteI voted for The Women in Cabin 10 because it's the only book i've read on your list. Also, cruiseship books are great for summer. Can't wait to see which book wins! :)
